When the dream comes to Samson mind, he started to seek the person who were shared the vision, thanks to the ‘listro’ Deribe, he brought Dorothy to the Library Samson used to work and as soon as he saw called Queen and through time trust developed and the vision shared between the two co-founder!

Dorothy and Samson had passed through many experiences before the established Noble Cause which is changed now to Marefia Elder care and Support, together they became strong team and took the vision to Ethiopian Ministry of Justice and took advice, then the draft proposal has taken to Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, thanks Ato Asefa Baliher by his advice and guidelines the organization has gotten its certificate, then according the pan we established for we proceeded and accomplished a lot of activities. Such as started by large area of host community awareness about us, prioritized the problem of the beneficiaries, eye cataract was the main problem, and house maintenance, provided training of trainer and traditional harmful practices, about communicable and non-communicable diseases on how to prevent including the rehabilitation and environmental hygiene!

During the work we also realized that dividing our work into components was created the direction like community based care, senior care center, holistic health service, economical strengthening, Age-friendly approach.
After 15 years work, Dorothy left and following this different challenges came became difficult to get enough funds, especially covid-19, civil war causes economical crisis and has made worse, tried to focused local and national resource mobilization on this situation volunteers came up with radical changes in the organization; this is how “Marefia/ meaning Rest place” changed!
